Lunar eclipses happen on what would be full moons, if the Earth were
transparent.
The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year.
So one might imagine that a Winter Solstice with a full moon would be
the ideal time for werewolves to frolic. It would be a major event on
their calendar.
But what of a lunar eclipse? Does it block the transformation? Is
there something analogous to the solar eclipse effect of bending
radiation; does some transformation-inspiring radiation get bent by the
Earth's gravitational field and reflect off the darkened Moon to hit the
Earth with redoubled focus?
So do werewolves get more super powers? Invisibility? Flight?
Or is it the opposite? Perhaps it's the lycanthrope community's version
of Sadie Hawkins Day, where if a human bites a werewolf, the werewolf is
"cured"?
.
(Me, I plan on staying indoors. Too cold out there, and too many
suburban holiday decorations.)
Now playing: "Partita #4 Aria" by JS Bach. Accordion: Stefan Hussong
